ConnectLift Mate was built with one non-negotiable promise: Your data stays yours. We don’t track you, spy on you, or sell your information, because we hate that stuff too.

Whether you use our extension for quick messaging, AI assistance, or smart recruiter outreach, your data never leaves your browser unless you choose to share it.

1. No Data Collection Ever

No personal info
No LinkedIn credentials
No browsing history
No trackers or analytics
No AI logs or monitoring

2. Everything is Stored Locally

All your data notes, messages, Boolean queries, preferences are stored using chrome.storage.local.

We never see or access it
Your browser holds 100% of it
You can wipe everything any time from Settings

3. AI Features, Done Ethically

When you enable AI, here’s what stays true:

You provide your own API key (optional)
Your key is stored locally only
Your input/output stays on your machine
No data is sent to us or saved by us

4. Profile Data & AI Integration (User-Initiated, Transparent)

ConnectLift Mate offers optional AI features that help you write personalized LinkedIn messages based on the profile you're viewing. This only happens when you manually click the “Generate with AI” button.

It extracts visible public data like name, headline, job title, company, and educationn only from the currently open profile
This data is sent directly from your browser to the GroqCloud API using your API key
It's used only once to generate a message, then discarded

🔐 Important:

This feature is 100% optional and always user-triggered
No background scraping or automated actions ever occur
We do not log, retain, or share any profile data ever
ConnectLift Mate does not access LinkedIn’s backend or APIs

We designed this AI workflow to give you better, personalized messages, while fully respecting LinkedIn’s boundaries and your control.

5. We Do Not Access Your LinkedIn

We only interact with visible input fields. That means:

No access to login credentials
No cookies, tokens, or inbox data
No scraping of your profile or connections

6. Chrome Permissions – Explained Simply

Permission	Purpose

7. Optional Personalization is Private

You can optionally fill in personal fields (like name, education, goals) to enhance AI generation. These are:

Saved in local browser memory
Used only for generation
Not shared or uploaded

8. Data Deletion Upon Uninstall

Uninstalling ConnectLift Mate erases all your stored data automatically. No manual cleanup needed. You can also clear data anytime via Settings.

9. Dark Mode & UI Preferences

Visual choices like dark mode are stored locally. We don’t log session activity, even for theme toggles.
